my deepest condolence for the victim of Japan’s major earthquake and tsunami…

I was terribly shock when hearing about the breaking news on CNN at my office, and soon called my big family in Japan… thanks God, lot of my family lived in kansai area, including Osaka and Kyoto… as for some of my family who lived in Tokyo area, all of them were already evacuated to safer ground by the time I called them (afternoon, West Indonesia time)

let us all sincerely pray for Japan

and not only that, let us pray for all of us, for the upcoming years to come…
I mean, really… it was another big disaster in these following years!!
it just felt like disaster after disaster followed by another disaster…
hope things going to be better for all of us, the mankind

note: by the time I wrote this, people in Eastern part of Japan having a major blackout, please stay strong guys

my most favorite Hotwheel’s original concept, the Stockar!!
well, as you may already noticed, I’m crazy bout glow and transparent stuff, combination of them both is surely an EPIC WIN!! yeah!!

I first knew that Hotwheel produce some clear colored vehicle just in 2007 from their X Raycers series,
yeah… I’m totally late!! cause they actually already produced several clear version vehicles years before…
but since then, I simply hooked up on this transparent rides, cause what more a man could ask for..? It got great decals, great metallic colored rims, and a detailed GID plastic for the interior in this so called Xraycer series, wicked!!

that’s when I decided to start collecting any clear colored vehicle they produced, including such car as Vandetta, Phastasm, Scion, Paradigm Shift and others that usually released within the so called transparent series…

too bad as the years coming, the 2007 series seems to be the only time when they produced transparent cars with GID plastic as the body… just look at that 2010 series, I’m not saying those other Stockars in transparent series are loosing their charms, no sir-eee… they still looks wicked awesome, as in this 2010 series…
in their latest series, Stockar came with a total invisibility cloak!! just like miss Invisible from Fantastic Four or that jet rode by wonder Woman X D
transparent body, transparent rims, transparent wheels, transparent interior, transparent window (well duuuh), and a minimalist transparent grey decals, woahohohow… they still got it…

right now I’m on my way hunting for some transparent series of Stockar there is, and already got the yellow (2005) + Track Aces (2007) version, just still looking for the Phantom X Raycers one… never really understand why I just passed that series up back then T_T

greatest cowboy known by man, an American hero in the wild west era created by an European artist, ladies and gentleman, I give youuu……..Lucky Luke!!
a character created by Belgium well-known cartoonist, Maurice de Bevere, or better known as Mr. Morris

he created this character, a wondering cowboy hero who always fight for justice (and the girls, ahem) who lived in the wild wild west era, that soon become a global European Comic phenomenon just like Asterix…

as a kid, I really enjoyed reading Lucky Luke comics published by the local publisher here in my country, but one time, when my auntie got a business trip to Europe, she brought me the original comic of Lucky Luke, then I just realized that this cowboy is not really originated from US, with all of those French words that I could not understand at all back then X D

the comic itself is soooo classic!! the good guy helping out the sheriff or major to get rid of the baddies from their town, fighting bank robbers, gun dueling at noon, smoking under the blue sky and simply ridding on his trustee companion, Jolly Jumper’s back while walking towards the sunset and singin: “I’m a poor lonesome cowboy, and a long way from home”
but that’s the beauty of it which I really enjoyed!!

oh, I wished they would produce more figure/toys of the characters from this series… right now I’m still trying to complete the notorious Dalton Bros figure

ah… my first figure related post for this year…
think I’ll started this year with something filled with new hope then, an upcoming local urban toy template!!

it’s called CBR by its creator; – Midz Toy
that’s an abbreviation for “ceboru”, a word that’s crossing between Indonesian word “cebol” (en:midget) with Japanese hiragana style

the name’s a little bit confusing perhaps ^^’
but this is a great future template IMO!!

there are several other well-known Indonesian urban toy templates, such as Suzuka, Chobits, Bulby and others that sized more than 5 inch tall, almost like those mini Munny from Kidrobot

CBR stand only an inch tall, or at least that’s the size of the prototype figure that Midz and his friend kindly gave to me on the previous Toy Fair on December last year
it got only one articulation, on the neck, so one could separate it’s head with the body for detailing purpose, not bad…

I love small scaled figures, and prefer smaller template such 2.5 inch blank Qees or 100% blank bearbrick to bigger one… thus this CBR could be the next big thing for me!!

Midz Toy already produced several prototypes, each colored in different one tone version… the most interesting color for me is those clear version!! I know, they are just a clear resin, but still!!
just look at the one that I got, it’s amber colored!! I already fantasizing how to make an interesting custom out of this one…

can’t wait for the future release of CBR Midz!!

a new year always mean something to me…
it’s time to reflect…
it’s time to set new resolutions…
and try our best to achieve those resolutions, but at least we still got one full year to get it over with huh? X D

back to figure life, lot of my friends already set their figure shopping outlook 2011… although I could be considered as a well planed person, but alas ’till now I never create a yearly figure shopping plan
oh well, let just go with the flow ^^’

my favorite character from Japanese comdey manga!!
presenting to you, wonder of our mother nature, the weirdest among weird, ladies and gentlemeeen, please welcome UNAGIINU!! \^0^/

in case you never heard bout this character, he is an original and iconic character from Japanese legendary comedy series, Baka Tensai BAKABON!!
hum… let’s see… unagi in English means eel, while inu means dog… so, is this a crossbreed among ‘em both?!?!

this famous crazy character is a crossbreed among those two animal
his father is a dog who walk past a fish shop and met one very attractive female eel, and they decided to get married… crazy huh? well, if you read the manga, this won’t sounds so crazy, cause there are thousands of another crazy concept within that manga!!

enough bout the character background, this figure is actually a sofubi, one that made out of PVC and came without any articulation… more like a designer toy IMO
the detail is quite amazing; that glossy-wet look black color of his skin, his detailed tail, and even if you looked down, he got that “X” mark as his belly button… sooo manga style!! X D

I got mine already re-packaged and sold in Super Position Osaka… so I have no ideas regarding the manufacture, original price and the production year of this unique toy… I would really appreciate if anyone of you can help me with those information ^^
the one thing that I know, he came with various alternate colors… from purple, yellow to even green!! and as usual, the original color is the most expensive one… spent quite lot of money for this little dude >_<

Norman Osborn, one high-tech gadget industrialist who got double personalities: as a businessman and as a crazy psychopath who dressed up in Halloween costume and terrorize the city with pumpkin… yeah right, pumpkin people… but this is no ordinary pumpkin, it’s filled with stuffing…of explosion!!

he’s one of my fav super villains in Marvel comic, and I consider him to be the true arch enemy of Spiderman
if Batman got Joker, Superman got Lex Luthor, surely this one is the true enemy of good ol’ Peter Parker

Green Goblin is not a super villain who got brains only as his weapon, he also got a glider ;p
well yeah, you need a glider to catch up with that swinging spider right…?

anyway, this 3 inch version of the villain is one of the best built character among Hasbro’s 3 inch super heroes!!

what makes this figure great? the costume is comic accurate, the glider is wide and cool enough, the facial expression that just right, and the best one of all IMO is the finishing color… his goblin’s skin/scale colored in a great metallic green, the best one compare to other Green Goblin figures in my collection!! the price is also right, I got mine loose for 20 Sing Dollar with two other main characters, which were Spidey and modern armor Ironman, not baaaad..

then what’s the downer?? okay, the biggest one that I found is that pumpkin!! it looks nothin like a pumpkin!! more like one big ugly onion… aaw c’mon, pumpkin should looks bigger, or at least wider than that!! not like that tall, yellow and thin smiling onion

maybe Hasbro could add one more very interesting yet simple accessories, a transparent display stand base to hold up the glider for a flying effect, so this figure would actually be more PERFECT for everyone

hey look!! there’s Santa on the roof, and it’s not just the ordinary Santa, it’s a gloomy blue-haired one… and thanks God she came without beard X D

here’s another ultra cute version of Rei, she’s dressed-up in order to warm up this chilly season, by becoming the world’s cutest Santa, heheh…

this figure ornament is not so great compared to the other characters within this line that got a lot more colors and tiny details, but hey, the finishing color is just so good!! almost PVC like!! you know, that flat finish effect?
I really love her armless Santa suit, so sexy… paired up with those boots and gloves… the most interesting details of this figure IMO is her facial expression, she looks surprised while trying to get that toys sack down the chimney

not bad for a 2 inches figure that you could get for 800yen ($8) huh…?

there are three other characters in this “Christmas Eve Party Mini Display Figure” line produced by Sega, which are: Asuka, Misato and Hikari, one of the most unseen character X D

Xmas and New Year are just weeks away, and what good is Xmas without SANTA!! yay!!

here’s Santa, in Lego Basic shapes… accompanied by (or maybe making) a Snowman as his companion!!
these two basic sets actually a Seasonal special bagged sets from Lego, there are others Xmas themed basic sets, such as the Christmas Tree (Set #10069) and Rudolph the Reindeer (Set #10070)

hey look!! Santa’s holding a bag in his right hand, let’s hope that his bag is filled with toys for all of us, who already being extra nice this whole years this is a nice ornament addition for the 10068 Santa set, and also Santa looks even more friendly with his left hand waving to us!!

while for the 10079 Snowman, they added a leaf rake for Frosty to hold up, so it looks differ from the other Snowman basic set, the one with the shorter hat

hope something special happens to you, for this is the Christmas Eve!!

Star Wars…oh c’mon… who doesn’t now bout this legend, so I just skipped the short review regarding this epic series ‘kay ;P
but I just can’t be that easy going >_<

um, Star Wars is a legendary space tales created by George Lucas, which already become a legendary icon of the world’s modern sci-fi culture, especially as a remarkable icon of American pop culture

the saga started from 1977 and already got a total of 7 episodes up on the silver screen, those 6 original episodes plus one animated version

I’m a fans, but not a big fans
have you seen those hardcore Star Wars fanatic fans?!? it just make me saying “I’m not worthyyyyy” ^^’

still, I really love the Star Wars action figure merchandise, it got it’s own epic tale… from those notorious 3 inch collectibles action figure to the light saber FX line, all of those merchandise could convert an ignorant into a true fans X D

there are thousands of thousand Star Wars merchandise out there…
I only collect some specific line of toys, usually the 3 inch action figure and the 12 inch… plus, I’m only collecting the guys in white, guys in black, guys in red and guys in blue, if you catch my drift…

within the 3 inch action figure line, there is a special series that I really worship, which is Mc Quarrie’s conceptual art series!!
who is Ralph Mc Quarrie’s?? he’s the original conceptual arts creators for Star Wars, plus some other sci fi legend series like Battlestar Galactica, Back to the Future, Star Trek, ET, Jurassic Park and much more!! he’s the man, that fantasy artist legend…

and these is how Snowtroopers should looks like according to Quarrie’s original concept,I really love the design…
Hasbro also doing a superb work with these guys!!
even though they only come with only one accessories (which is a long riffle) and standard 3 inch toy’s articulation, but the details on all over the armor and backpack could really pay off those flaws!! they still looks in all white snow suits, but the weathering job is awesome!! the weathering give a post battle effect, with realistic mud spots all over our white guys… even you could remove their hood from their neck and see the details of the suit’s breathing system… ultra nice, a must have figure for any Star Wars fans
maybe the only major thing that bugging me is the fact that the long riffle could not really positioned well in their arms… it’s just to long for them to hold, thus we have to bend the riffle a little for some pose

I’ll review the other toys within Mc Quarrie’s concept line later, some of them are true gem… such as the Stormtrooper and Lord Vader himself!!
